Kids’ Outdoor Gift Guide

It is hard to believe it is already November! With the holidays right around the corner we created a Kids’ Outdoor Gift Guide to help with your holiday shopping.

Outdoor gifts can seem challenging during the winter season, but there are some fun options to consider that will hopefully get your children and family outside over winter break and throughout the entire year. While we have compiled a fun list here, we encourage you to consider any outdoor toy or gear when purchasing gifts for loved ones this holiday season.

Wheelbrightz Bike Lights

We found these lights at our local toy store. They are super bright and make biking in the evenings or early morning a lot safer.

Waboba Wingman

This foldable silicon disk is a super fun mini frisbee. Easy to throw in a backpack this toy is great for on the go and is waterproof! Play catch in the pool or snow.

Climbing Dome

This climbing dome is great for all seasons if you dress for the weather. Not only is it an active toy, but it is also great for imaginative play. In the summer it may be a pirate ship and in the winter the start of an igloo or snow palace.

Hiking Poles

These hikes poles are great for kids and an affordable price point. There are a variety of color options and they come with multiple grip fittings for the bottom to match your terrain. We have these for our kids and bring them on nearly every hike.

Indoor/Outdoor Adventure Playhouse

Whether exploring outside or inside this winter, this playhouse is super fun and ready for outdoorsy and imaginary play. Who doesn’t love a playhouse or fort than can fold up and be put away?

Snowboarding Gingerbread Long Sleeve Tee

We created this limited-edition tee specifically for the holiday season. This tee features a gingerbread man snowboarding with his OWL gear.  A fun and festive tee for the winter season.

Headlamp

Headlamps are a super fun gift for all ages. Whether its exploring caves on a hike, walking around the neighborhood to look at holiday lights, or reading in bed, headlamps are there for you. We love these, but there are a ton of options out there!

L.L.Bean Sonic Snow Tubes

There are a ton of snow tube options available, but these L.L.Bean ones are top notch for hitting the hills.

Bike Bell

Who doesn’t want a new bike accessory? These are great, simple to use and come in a ton of fun colors. Both our kids have these on their bikes.

Scooters

The toy that has gotten our littles ones outside all year round at nearly any age. We have two favorite scooter brands for kids. Micro’s Mini Delux is an awesome scooter with three wheels. It comes in a bunch of fun colors and has an adjustable handle for your growing kiddo.  After our kids outgrew the Mirco Mini, we purchased Razor scooters. A classic, reasonably priced scooter that holds up well and is fun for kids and parents.

Gifting Tip: Make sure you to purchase a helmet for your gift recipient if they don’t have one. We have used Nutcase helmets since our kids were toddlers and really like them.

GET OUTSIDE S’MORE Sweatshirt

Our best-selling kids tee as a warm, cozy hoodie. Super soft and ready adventure.

Snake Magnifying Glass

Melissa and Doug make so many awesome toys. We love this snake magnifying class for exploring the backyard or the trail. The shatterproof lens is a bonus

Plush Campfire Set

We have had this for years and continue to use it often. The perfect toy to get kids excited to go camping and allow them to pretend to camp indoors or outdoors.

OWL Youth Logo Hat

Featuring our tree logo, this hat just feels like it fits the season. It comes in timber green and dusty rose. Like all of our gear 5% of your purchase is donated to outdoor nonprofits such as the National Environmental Education Foundation.

Tent & Camping Lights

I randomly stumbled upon these tent and camping lights and they are on my buy list for my kiddos this holiday season. Awesome for camping, but also look perfect for making forts all winter break. These string lights have clips to hang them, but you can also leave them in the bag to act as a lantern.

Outdoorsy Books

Check out our Outdoorsy Children’s Books post for a bunch of book recommendations.

Happy Holidays and good luck with your shopping. We hope this gift guide helpful and will inspire you to think about outdoorsy toys and gifts for your friends and family.
